Healthy Gums. The Natural way

Healthy GumsThe Natural Way To DO It

The health of the gums depends on the rest of the mouth hygiene. Teeth should be brushed at least twice a day. It is preferable to use natural toothpaste, with as few foaming ingredients as possible, sugars, or substances that allow bacteria to continue living comfortably in your mouth.

The holistic approach, similar to your favorite dental hygienist says prevention is the best medicine. A healthy diet and lifestyle will prevent ailments, make your body stronger to heal itself. For example: if you eat many sugars (it will take some time but eventually happened) you will suffer from bad teeth, low energy levels, high levels of fat, and a slow, rusty metabolism.

So, what can you do naturally to keep your mouth teeth, and gums healthy?

  1. OIL PULLING is a traditional way to keep your teeth free of plaque and related bacteria. This will flush the mouth out with the bacteria hidden inside the pockets formed in the gums due to receding or gum disease, which will also help prevent gingivitis. The recommendation is to use sesame or coconut oil organic and cold-pressed if possible.

How to do it? Before brushing your teeth in the morning, take a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and gargle for about 10 minutes. Spit into the sink and brush as usual.

It may not sound very tasty or sexy but its works.

  • Mask. As irrational or unconventional as it sounds, a very powerful green clay mask for teeth and gums. Green clay with the addition of activated charcoal absorbs toxins and helps whiten teeth. Do not use green clay in case of implants or tooth filling for more than a couple of minutes, the clay is so powerful that it can release an old implant.

  • Myrrh tincture (can be ordered or purchased at health food stores). Myrrh is a reddish-brown resin collected from a thorny tree called Commiphora Myrrha found in Northeast Africa and Southwest Asia. Myrrh is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in various kinds of toothpaste on the market, FDA approved but is not recommended for ingestion (gargle and spit!!). Myrrh tincture can be used as an excellent and powerful natural substitute for mouthwash. 1ml of Myrrh tincture for a quarter to half cup of water, mix well and gargle for few moments. Sensitivity will soon be gone.

  • Eucalyptus Essential oil is a powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. There is research showing that eucalyptus extract encourages gum health and oral freshness.

  • Salt. Simple and accessible. We have already forgotten but a teaspoon of salt in a quarter cup of water, gargle and spit into the sink disinfects the oral cavity and soothes sensitivity in the gums….

Balanced nutrition is important, even necessary for the proper functioning of all our body systems.

There are more things you can do. Green tea and turmeric are known to be antibacterial, mint is refreshing, baking soda whitening, etc. In addition, daily maintenance strict hygiene, regular visits to the dental hygienist will keep your mouth clean and healthy.

* Myrrh tincture, as well as Myrrh essential oil, are not recommended for pregnant or lactating women and diabetics.
