What’s A Serum & Why You Need It?

The market is flooded with care products, the advertisers swear that this is the new MUST HAVE and thus another step to our care routine. Influencers (who for some reason influence our choices) will tell us how great this product is just for you because it is for her.

It’s a little hard to figure out what’s true in all this information and what you really need.

Serum. What is it and why do you need it?

The serum is designed to address specific skin issues such as acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, dry and sensitive skin, etc., therefore it is concentrated in dedicated active ingredients that will penetrate deep into the layers of the skin and do a job that will improve the “problem” of the skin.

There is a suitable serum for every purpose.

Must put an asterisk (*) and say that diet and lifestyle will contribute and support the skin from the inside and if you want a real result, nourish yourself from the inside as well.

Apply the serum after cleansing the skin and before moisturizing with a cream. If you prefer otherwise, don’t hesitate, there is more than one way to feel great 😉

In The Lab of the White Witch, Oil Serums have a special place. Depending on the skin type, a formula is created. A cocktail of oils or butters that will support, protect, and nourish your skin and provide it with the abundance it needs. Inside the bottle will enter a synergy of essential oils that will bring a wonderful smell and a package of healthy, useful properties to support the health and vitality of your skin. Into it comes some vitamins and various extracts to empower the treatment.

I like oils. Oils are my passion and what brought me to this business. I research oils from around the world to bring them into a little bottle to nourish your skin (and mine).

The world of oils is almost as big as the world of plants, each oil has its own unique properties and ingredients. Vitamins and essential fatty acids, each of which has its own essential role.

EXAMPLE: Common and well-known oils such as olive oil, almond oil, and many others are rich in oleic acid, or omega 9 which soothes balance, helps restore the skin, and contains compounds that strengthen the cell membranes. Evening primrose oil is particularly rich in linoleic acid, omega 6 or vitamin F which penetrates deep into the skin and “pads” it with moisture and elasticity, increases the proper ability to absorb oxygen, strengthens the skin barrier, and protects against UV rays and air pollutants that cause free radical activity which in the long run will cause wrinkles and aging skin.

It is my personal MUST-HAVE. The feeling of the rich (and colorful) oil is pleasant to me, my skin is radiant but not greasy or remotely shiny, I smell like a garden of flowers that opens my mind and the day.

There are other types of serums. Those with a thin lotion, or gel texture there are all kinds. Each will take care of a different specific “problem”.

The White Witch offers a variety of serums suitable for nourishment and hydration and there is always a new serum that you may try. And if you’re not sure what’s right, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
